Two inflation measures are shown. The Hungarian Central Statistical Office's national CPI is the headline figure and the one the Magyar Nemzeti Bank targets at 3%; the EU-harmonised HICP is shown for comparison with other EU countries, and the two can differ by a few tenths because their weights differ. Inflation passed 25% in early 2023. The interest rate is the MNB's base rate. In 2022 and 2023 the MNB steered short-term rates with an 18% one-day deposit tender while the base rate stood at 13%, so market rates were higher than the base rate in that period. The national CPI here is computed from the OECD's copy of KSH's index and can differ by 0.1 from the rate KSH publishes.

Goods trade only. Services aren't covered by this data source and aren't shown here, so relationships that lean heavily on services may be understated.

Debt and the budget balance are Eurostat's excessive deficit procedure figures for general government, calendar years. Foreign direct investment is not shown: the World Bank's figures for Hungary include large transit flows through special-purpose entities (over 100% of GDP in 2020), which the Magyar Nemzeti Bank leaves out of its own headline.

The 10-year yield is the ECB's monthly long-term interest rate for convergence purposes for Hungary. The exchange rates are World Bank annual averages of the official forint rate, so they move once a year; there is no free daily or monthly series for the forint on the Federal Reserve's H.10 list.
