CPI is the national consumer price index, taken from the OECD's prices database. The month-on-month rate is not shown: no published source for the statistics bureau's own monthly figure can be reached from outside China, and a rate rebuilt from a rounded index does not match the official one. The interest rate is the one-year loan prime rate, the benchmark bank lending rate; the People's Bank of China's main operating rate since 2024, the seven-day reverse repo rate, is not shown. Before August 2019 the series is the one-year benchmark lending rate, which the loan prime rate replaced.

Unemployment is the International Labour Organization's modelled annual estimate. The statistics bureau's monthly surveyed urban unemployment rate cannot be fetched from outside China, so it is not shown. Employment and participation rates are not published on a comparable basis.

Goods trade from the IMF's international trade in goods data, as China's customs reports it: exports valued free on board, imports including cost, insurance and freight. The IMF publishes US dollars; each month is converted to yuan at that month's exchange rate. The figures are not seasonally adjusted: the Lunar New Year holiday moves between January and February, and China's customs agency publishes those two months as one combined release, so they are best read together.
Goods trade only. Services aren't covered by this data source and aren't shown here, so relationships that lean heavily on services may be understated.

Illustrative fallback shows 13 major partners. Once live, every partner UN Comtrade has data for is fetched: the radial view shows the top 20 by value, the map shows the top 50, and the ranking list can be expanded to show the top 50 too.

Government bond yields and exchange rates are market prices, not government statistics, shown here as the fast-moving complement to the macro data above. The 10-year yield is the OECD's monthly long-term interest rate; the exchange rate is the Federal Reserve's daily rate. Neither comes from a news aggregator or a paid data vendor.
