Privacy

Short version: this site tracks visits only if you say yes to the cookie banner, and only collects your email address if you create an account yourself. Nothing is ever sold. That's the whole policy in one sentence, the rest of this page is the detail behind it, because a one-line policy isn't a real one.

Analytics

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics (GA4) records anonymised usage data: which pages get visited, roughly how often, and general location (country/city level, not a precise address). This exists purely to understand which parts of the site are actually useful, not to identify you personally. If you click Reject, or don't respond, none of this runs, there's no tracking-before-consent, and no assumption that silence means yes.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional, and the only way this site collects your email address. Accounts are handled by Supabase: it stores your email address and a securely hashed password (never the password itself), plus anything you choose to save, such as charts, your dashboard and your calendar settings. Supabase also sends the account emails you'd expect: confirming your address and password resets. Your email is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for marketing. There's no newsletter or mailing list.

Calendar email alerts

These are off unless you turn them on yourself in the calendar's Countries panel. If you do, a reminder listing upcoming releases for the countries you track is sent via Resend, at most once a day. Turning the setting off in the same panel stops them straight away.

Who actually has access

The Economic Atlas, Google (for the analytics data, only if you consented), Supabase (for accounts and anything you save, only if you create an account) and Resend (for calendar alerts, only if you turn them on). Nobody else. There's no ad network, no data broker, no third-party tracking pixel of any kind on this site.

Changing your mind

To delete your account and everything saved with it, get in touch and it'll be removed, no questions asked. Calendar alerts can be switched off at any time from the calendar's Countries panel. For the cookie choice, clearing your browser's site data/cookies for this domain resets it, and you'll be asked again next visit, get in touch if you'd rather we just tell you what, if anything, is on file for you.

Data retention

Account details, including your email address, are kept until you ask us to delete your account. Analytics data follows Google's own standard GA4 retention settings, not a custom arrangement.

Changes to this page

If what's collected or why ever changes, this page gets updated to match, it's meant to describe reality, not a fixed legal document nobody rereads.
