Inflation is the EU's harmonised index (HICP), the measure the ECB targets; STATEC also publishes a national CPI, which can differ by a few tenths. Luxembourg has used the euro since its launch on 1 January 1999 and has had no policy rate of its own since: the rate shown is the European Central Bank's deposit facility rate. Before 1999 the Luxembourg franc was at par with the Belgian franc, in a monetary association with Belgium.

Unemployment is Eurostat's monthly, seasonally adjusted rate (ILO definition, ages 15 to 74). ADEM's registered unemployment, sometimes quoted in Luxembourg news, is a different measure. Employment and participation rates are Eurostat's seasonally adjusted Labour Force Survey figures for ages 15 to 64, from 2009. They cover residents only, while a large share of the people working in Luxembourg commute from neighbouring countries. The survey sample is small, so quarterly moves of one to two points are common even after seasonal adjustment; the trend over several quarters is a better guide.

Goods trade is Eurostat's monthly total with the rest of the world, in euros. Luxembourg usually imports more goods than it exports; most of its exports are services, which are not shown here.
Goods trade only. Services aren't covered by this data source and aren't shown here, so relationships that lean heavily on services may be understated.
